Help is on the way in the form of state-of-the-art medical care at UC Davis for the badly disfigured hero dog of the Philippines.
As the story goes, Kabang, a medium-sized mutt now at UC Davis vet school, lost her snout and upper jaw when she leapt in front of a motorcycle to save two small girls in the Philippines.
It’s hard to look at the animal, who survived despite her massive injuries. An international campaign raised money to send her to UC Davis, where this week she underwent tests and examinations.
Kabang will need at least two surgeries, the first dental and the second a try at closing the gaping wound on the dog’s face. (read the rest)
